As part of the Southern Association for Women Historians (SAWH) “Let’s Talk: Mentoring in Action” series, the SAWH Professional Development Committee will be hosting a Zoom chat on October 13th entitled, “Putting Your History Degree to Work: Careers Beyond the Academy.” We develop a number of valuable skills while pursuing our degrees in history. But sometimes it's hard to see how to apply those skills to other careers. Sometimes it's hard to know what sorts of careers to look for in the first place. Fortunately, we have a panel of helpful colleagues who will share some of their advice and experience.

Are you about to go on the job market? Or maybe you're planning ahead and this step is still a ways off? Or maybe you're looking to transition out of the academy and into a new career altogether? Maybe you've taken your undergraduate or graduate degree in history down another career path? If any of these sound like you, please join us!

This session will take place on Thursday, October 13th, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm ET, so grab a beverage of choice and chat with us for a bit.
