‘Homecoming’ after war: Comparative and interdisciplinary perspectives is a one-day conference at the University of Warwick, bringing together scholars across time, space, and disciplines to reshape thinking about the concept of ‘homecoming’ in the wake of armed conflict. The core thematic focus of the conference is the return of ex-combatants and displaced civilians from conflict zones. Of particular interest is the way in which former participants in conflict processed the destruction or severe modification of their ‘home’ community, and how this in turn interacted with the destruction of their own subjectivity.

We invite papers from across the humanities, especially those considering the historical and representational components of post-war return. Please see our full Call for Papers on Twitter or our Website for more information.
