INTERDISCIPLINARY CONFERENCE, New York City

Time: May 26, 2016   (9 am to 8 pm)

The Latin Am. Jewish Studies Assoc. (LAJSA) invites you to participate in 

their fourth Research Conference. Along with LAJSA's international 

meetings, held every two years, LAJSA's regional conferences bring 

together scholars from a variety of disciplines and geographical regions. 

Their research focuses on the lives, experiences, cultural production and 

representations of Jews in and from Latin America from the Colonial period 

to the present. For LAJSA's regional conference in New York City we 

encourage sessions that explore interdisciplinary and comparative themes. 

We also invite submission of proposals of short Creative works to be 

read or films to be screened (time limit 15 minutes.)

Submissions Deadline: March 1, 2016

Individual proposals for papers  (not to exceed 20 minutes) may be in 

English, Spanish or Portuguese. 

Panel Sessions 3 to 4 presenters; session chair may be one of the 

presenters. Please include proposal (half a page, single spaced, 

conveners' names, academic affiliation and e-mail addresses).

There is limited space for book presentations and/or for Ph.D. 

dissertations obtained between 2015 and 2016 on Latin American 

Jewish subjects.
