2016-2017 Nau Graduate Fellowship In History

The Department of History at the University of Texas at San Antonio invites applications for The Nau Graduate Fellowship in History.  The Department will award $8,000 to $12,000 to 5-7 new students in the M.A. in History program in 2016-2017.  Nau Graduate Fellowships are open to students with scholarly interests in all areas of history.

Additionally, two-year funding packages of $18,000 to $28,000 are available for two outstanding new students with an interest in the U.S. Civil War Era or Texas History.  Recipients of these funding packages will have the opportunity to serve as teaching assistants in their second year as Nau Fellows.

The M.A. Program in History at UTSA offers students the opportunity to study history from comparative and transnational perspectives with nationally and internationally recognized historians, including acclaimed Civil War scholar Dr. Catherine Clinton, the Denman Professor in American History.  The Department focuses particular attention on the theme “Empires, States, and Borders.”  San Antonio’s diverse population, long history as a Spanish outpost and Mexican frontier community, and wealth of local historical resources make the city an ideal setting to explore this theme.

For information on the application requirements, please see http://colfa.utsa.edu/colfa/scholarships/history.  Deadline: March 1, 2016.
