As part of the Southern Association for Women Historians (SAWH) “Let’s Talk: Mentoring in Action” series, the SAWH Professional Development Committee will be hosting a Zoom chat in early September entitled, “When Everything Goes Online: Making the Switch to Virtual.” The past couple of years have presented us with many challenges, and many opportunities, too. We’re hoping to share what we’ve learned in a recorded discussion with and for current and future SAWH members.
Have you got tips, tricks, and lessons learned for teaching? Did you have to shift to a virtual presentation of a conference paper or book talk? Did you start a new gig and then have to adjust to the new role and new surroundings in a new virtual world? Did you have to shift your institution’s public outreach and events to a virtual setting? Did you have to collaborate on a group project differently? If you found yourself in any of these places, and many of us did, we’d love it if you could join us!
This session is scheduled for Thursday, September 8th, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. If you’d like to be part of the featured panel, please email the committee chair, Lisa A. Francavilla, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include your name, contact information, and a little about the insights and experiences you’d like to share. Thanks in advance!
