The Association for Cultural Economics (ACEI) in conjunction with the Singapore Management University School of Social Sciences are pleased to announce a Call for Papers for the Sixth Asian Workshop on Cultural Economics.

The aim of the Workshop is to foster a safe space for critical discussion between academics, researchers and professionals, about the state of cultural economies in the Asia-Pacific region from a cultural economics perspective. The Workshop will welcome papers in the English language, from academic scholars and researchers to policy makers as well as arts practitioners, managers and leaders. While participation from all countries is welcome, we will prioritise papers that utilise a cultural economics perspective to interrogate issues about the urban cultural economies in the Asia-Pacific region.

The following list illustrates, but does not exhaust, possible topics:

  • Impact of Covid-19 on the arts, cultural and creative industries
  • Organisation and management of the arts, cultural and creative industries
  • Cultural value and valuation of the arts, cultural and creative industries
  • Cultural labour and the precarity of work in the arts, cultural and creative industries
  • Cultural policy, planning and evaluation
