You still have several weeks to submit your proposal for the Northeast Popular/American Culture Association’s (NEPCA's) virtual conference, which will be held from Thursday, October 20 to Saturday, October 22.  The TELEVISION area welcomes paper submissions from graduate students, faculty, writers, and independent researchers of popular culture.  The deadline for proposals is August 1, 2022.  You can find general information about the 2022 conference here: https://nepca.blog/2022/04/06/nepca-2022-virtual-conference-cfp/ .  There's a link on that page for submitting proposals, as well.

For more information on the types of papers that the Television area is open to, please go here - - https://nepca.blog/conference/conference-areas/ -- and scroll down to Television.  While many papers presented in the Television area in recent years have been textual analyses of various programs (sometimes in comparative or historical perspective) and such papers are always welcome, we are also very open to papers that discuss the political-economy of television, audience reception of television programs (including streaming video), or technological advances and how they are changing the nature of TV and its reception (binge-watching, anyone?).

Please submit your proposal via the online form; again, the link to the form can be found on the main 2022 conference page.  Both proposals for individual papers and complete panels will be considered. The deadline for proposals is Monday, August 1, 2022.  When you submit your proposal, PLEASE email the Television Area Chair, Karen Honeycutt, khoneycutt@keene.edu, at the same time, and note in your email that you have submitted via the official form.  (Of course, you may also email her with any pre-submission questions!)

NEPCA prides itself on holding conferences that emphasize sharing ideas in a non-competitive and supportive environment. NEPCA conferences offer intimate and nurturing sessions in which new ideas and works-in-progress can be aired, as well as completed projects.  We look forward to seeing you at our virtual conference!
