Filipe Chamy has a law graduate from Mackenzie, in Letters (Portuguese-Linguistics) from USP and holds a master's degree in Philosophy from IEB (USP), with the dissertation entitled The American Dream of Monteiro Lobato: Brazil-EUA relations in the writer's work. He was born and lives in São Paulo, is the author of four novels and numerous tales and chronicles, as well as academic essays, literary studies, cinematic criticism and poems.

Filipe will present some of the ideas contained in “Caçadas de Pedrinho or the war of commands and symbols”, his latest study, in which he examined the work by Monteiro Lobato in 1933 carefully. The work focuses on the two key moments of the book in detail- The jaguar hunt that appears on the farm of Dona Benta and the siege of the rhino that is eventually integrated into the Lobatian characters-as well as an intersectional analysis of the controversial figure of Aunt Nastasia, the adventure in question and in the full work from the São Paulo writer. The study highlights the importance of the work (Caçadas de Pedrinho) within the chronology of the Lobato Children's saga, establishing as object of last and fundamental analysis the textual content of the book, its contexts, styles and specificities, disregarding personal subjectivities and awards that compromise fluid reading and clog deepened discussion.
