Call for Papers
Chicago History magazine seeks articles on various aspects of the history of Chicago and urban life: articles may cover cultural, political, economic, social, architectural, and other topics. We are currently seeking proposals or manuscripts for issues to be published in calendar years 2018-2021. Two issues are published each year—one each in the spring and fall. We seek papers of 4,000-5,000 words. Footnotes/endnotes are required and will be published. Our articles are heavily illustruated, and it is the editors' responsiblity to conduct photo research, with advice from authors as appropriate.
Proposals are accepted on an ongoing basis.
Queries, proposals, articles and any questions should be sent to Rosemary Adams, editor-in-chief, at email@example.com. I'm happy to answer questions no matter what stage an article may be in: an idea, an outline, an abstract, a first draft.
We pay an honorarium of $500 upon publication.
