We invite scholars working in Jewish studies to propose panels for the international interdisciplinary conference “What’s New, What’s Next? Innovative Methods, New Sources, and Paradigm Shifts in Jewish Studies.” The aim of the conference is to explore new directions in the study of East and Central European Jews.

CfP: Revolutionary cosmopolitanism. Transnational migration and political activism, 1815-1848 (June 2020, QMUL)

Summary: The period 1815-1848 not only was characterized by several waves of revolution in Europe, the Atlantic world and beyond, but also by large migratory movements. Although these migrations can often be associated with political uprisings, only few connections have been made between the study of migration history and history of political thought and practices.
