REMINDER: Registration for 'The Holocaust and History' Now Open

Imogen Dalziel Discussion

This is a reminder that registration is now open for our upcoming conference, 'The Holocaust and History: The Work and Legacy of David Cesarani'.

Our colleague David Cesarani (1956-2015) was a leading historian of the Holocaust and of Anglo-Jewry, and a public intellectual concerned with the importance of historical understanding. The aim of this conference is to celebrate his work through presenting and debating leading and new research in these areas, and by holding a large public engagement event on recent work on the Holocaust and its legacy.

Topics presented at the conference are those that were of interest to Professor Cesarani, namely: Holocaust history and memory; Zionism; anti-Semitism as an intellectual tradition and political movement; and the history of Anglo-Jewry. Keynote speakers include Professor Todd Endelman (University of Michigan), Dr Robert Rozett (Yad Vashem) and Professor David Feldman (Birkbeck, University of London).

The conference will take place on Monday 3rd and Tuesday 4th April. The first day and a half will be an academic conference situated in Senate House; the afternoon of the 4th will see a public event taking place at the Imperial War Museum, with roundtable discussions regarding Holocaust consciouness in Britain and David Cesarani's role in raising this.

Panellists and attendees can register for the conference here. Please note that there is a conference fee of £10.00 to cover catering costs. Registration closes on Friday 3rd March 2017.

A conference rate has been designated to attendees of this conference by a number of hotels local to Senate House. Should you require this information, please email Imogen Dalziel (Administrator, Holocaust Research Centre) using the conference email address: cesarani.conference@rhul.ac.uk. Please note this offer will expire very shortly. You can also request a copy of the draft programme.
