The board members of the Theravada Studies Group are proposing a panel for the hybrid-format Association for Asian Studies, Inc. (AAS) Annual Conference in 2022.
Our panel will center danger, risk, uncertainty, precarity, and/or resilience; with a working title of "Theravada Buddhists in Dangerous Times." We welcome papers that engage both historical as well as contemporary conjunctures, experiences, and dynamics.
We cordially invite you to submit a proposal to the TSG. We hope to bring together a panel of 3-4 presenters at different stages of their career (graduate students to senior faculty), and of diverse genders, ethnic backgrounds, and institutional affiliations.
- Your name, role, and institutional affiliation
- Your email address
- Paper title
- An abstract of no more than 250 words
- Your preference for a remote/digital or in-person appearance in Honolulu in March, 2022
With very best regards!
