Dear Colleagues,

The American Academy of Religion Buddhist Philosophy Unit has been granted an additional in-person panel for this year's Annual Meeting in San Antonio (November 20-23).

The Steering Committee would like to invite graduate students and junior, pre/non-tenure track scholars to submit paper proposals on any subject related to Buddhist philosophy ( 150 word abstract, 1000 word proposal) by next Thursday, May 20th. The proposals will be considered for an omnibus panel highlighting outstanding work by graduate students and junior scholars. Proposals that address the theme of the AAR, "Religion, Poverty and Inequality: Contemplating our Collective Futures" are especially welcomed.

Please send proposals directly to Karin Meyers ( and Tao Jiang (, co-chairs of the Buddhist Philosophy Unit.
