22 November 2017, 6.30pm, John Snow Lecture Theatre, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Keppel Street, WC1E 7HT

As part of the Being Human Festival of the Humanities, and the Wellcome Trust-funded research project 'Prisoners, Medical Care, and Entitlement to Health in England and Ireland 1850-2000', we are pleased to invite you to the launch event for a documentary podcast about the history of AIDS in Ireland. This podcast uses oral histories to introduce one specific collection of experiences of AIDS in the 1980s, from the HIV/AIDS separation unit in Dublin’s largest prison, Mountjoy. Come and hear the podcast on 22 November, and join us for a roundtable discussion and drinks reception. Free to attend, but registration required:

If you're not able to attend but would like to hear the podcast, keep an eye on our website where it will be available to download from 1st December 2017:
