MEDIA. GENRE. THE GENERIC.
OCTOBER 17-19, 2019
NAVSA 2019 invites a wide range of scholarship on the nineteenth century - in history, literary criticism, art history, media studies, and more. We are eager to include a range of perspectives on the ninteenth century, including multiple perspectives on affect, art, and culture.
While our explicit theme is media and genre, we also offer the theme itself as generic: the conference is open-call on any topic as long as it is conducive to a short presentation. Submit on any area of research, teaching, or project-building (collaborative, creative, and/or public) that would be of interest to Victorianist scholars.
Our keynote speakers will be film director Mike Leigh and historian Priya Satia.
The submission deadline is January 28, 2019. Please see the full CFP for more information.
