On Monday 29th March, 2pm-5pm, Churchill Archives Centre will host a free online symposium on the archive of Professor Sir Robert Edwards (IVF pioneer), as part of the Cambridge Festival. All are welcome.
The symposium will focus on ways for researchers to work with material contained in the archive, and ways of working shown in the archive (how Robert Edwards carried out research). Speakers include Dr Kay Elder (Senior Research Scientist, Bourn Hall Clinic), Madelin Evans (Archivist for the Edwards Papers, Churchill Archives Centre), Professor Sarah Franklin (Reproductive Sociology Research Group, University of Cambridge), Professor Sir Richard Gardner (Emeritus Royal Society Research Professor at University of Oxford), Gina Glover (Artist), Professor Roger Gosden (lately Professor at Cornell University now visiting scholar at William & Mary and official biographer of Edwards), Professor Nick Hopwood (Department of History and Philosophy of Science, University of Cambridge), Dr Jenny Joy (daughter of Robert Edwards and key in gathering together his archive) and Dr Staffan Müller-Wille (University Lecturer in the Department of History and Philosophy of Science, University of Cambridge).
More information and a link to sign up on Eventbrite are available on Churchill Archive Centre's website: https://www.chu.cam.ac.uk/events/ways-working-sir-robert-edwards-/
This event is rescheduled from a symposium which was due to take place in March 2020. Apologies for cross posting.
