reeti basu Discussion

Hello,

We are planning to organise a session for the Association for Asian Studies (AAS) annual conference, 2022. The broad subject will be the emergence of the public sphere/space in late colonial Bengal. We are Doctoral Candidates at the Centre for Historical Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, India. The titles of our papers are ‘The Travelling Public: Daily Passengers and the Public Transport System in Colonial Calcutta, c.1902-c.1947’ and ‘Barracks, clubs and restaurant: Emergence of a new public space in Second World War Bengal’. We want to collaborate with scholars working on a similar subject.

A session comprises a maximum of 4 presenters. Thus, I am looking for 1-2 presenters. The last date of proposal submission is on 10 August 2021(https://www.asianstudies.org/conference/call-for-proposals/submission-types-requirements/).
