ANN: SMB-ANAMED Joint Fellowships in Provenance Research

The Staatliche Museen zu Berlin ‒ Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz (SMB ‒ SPK) and Koç University's Research Center for Anatolian Civilizations (ANAMED) invite applications for two newly established SMB-ANAMED Joint Fellowships in Provenance Research (each 75%).

The fellowships will support two post-doctoral scholars to conduct research on the circumstances of the excavation of archaeological objects from Sam'al, Didyma, and Samarra in the Ottoman Empire and their export to Berlin during the late 19th/early 20th century.

Application review will commence on 31 May 2023 and continue until the position is filled. Starting on 25 September 2023 the fellowship period will last for 1 academic year and might be extended depending on the progress of the project.
