Hello Everyone!
As there's no telling how much longer Twitter will be viable, we are excited to announce that H-Net has just launched its own Mastodon server, or as they say in Mastodon speak, an instance. You can create your own profile on our instance here: https://h-net.social/about. For those already on Mastodon, you can find us at @h-net.social and even migrate your account there.
Setting up an account on our Mastodon Instance connects you with other scholars who rely on H-Net for its professional discourse and committment to best academic practices. Our instance is federated, which means that you can search for and follow other colleagues (both those who have established a profile on our instance and those who have established a profile on another instance).
While we plan to continue our presence on other social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook (as long as they are viable), we are already posting the jobs, reviews and other content you've come to expect from H-Net's social media on Mastodon.
We look forward to scholarly and intellectual debate on Mastodon and ask that you keep the following in mind:
Rules of Engagement/Code of Conduct
Be courteous, respectful, and understanding in interactions with fellow users.
No racism, sexism, ableism, religious-based hate, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, or classism.
No incitement of violence or promotion of violent or white supremecist ideologies.
No harassment, intimidation, or other abuse of other users.
No spam.
No intentionally false or misleading information, including unfounded or disproved conspiracy theories.
No libelous or slanderous posts about users and nonusers.
H-Net reserves the right to suspend, block, or remove accounts that do not abide by our rules of engagement, including harassment of other users.
We look forward to seeing you on Mastodon!
All the best,
Jesse
