H-South is Recruiting!

H-Net Vice President of Networks Caroline Waldron (Term Jan '22-Dec '24) Discussion

Dear H-South Subscribers,

I am writing in my capacity as H-Net’s Vice President of Networks and as a fellow southern historian. I will be in attendance at the Annual Meeting of the Southern Historical Association in Louisville and wanted to invite anyone who is curious about volunteering with H-South to reach out to me (vp-net@mail.h-net.org) about meeting up at the conference. I would be happy to sit down and talk about some of the various ways that scholars and teachers (of any rank) can get involved with the network, and I can even splurge for a few drinks. If you won’t be at the conference, I can also chat by phone. Let me briefly share a few links that point to projects from around H-Net that can serve as models / inspiration for individuals interested in working with H-South. H-South will also need a few volunteers who can help with the light, routine work of approving announcements.

H-CivWar’s interview series

H-Diplo’s reviews and publications program

H-Nutrition’s essays/blog series (link to one example)

H-Buddhism’s Generations of Buddhist Studies

H-Kentucky’s Woman Suffrage project

H-War’s Hand Grenade of the Month (link to one example)

H-Slavery’s catalog of digital projects

H-Nationalism’s Weekend Reading series

H-Portugal’s Resources Tab

Let me also add that I’m more than happy to meet with scholars and teachers interested in other topics that might align with one of H-Net’s roughly 180 networks.

Kind Regards,
