Civil War Study Group Symposium at IUPUI, Indianapolis, Indiana September 21, 2019
Please register for the 12th Annual Civil War Study Group, to be held on Saturday, September 21, on the campus of IUPUI in downtown Indianapolis.
The theme this year is The Common Soldier.

Peter S. Carmichael, Gettysburg College, to speak and answer questions on his recent book, The War for the Common Soldier: How Men Thought, Fought, and Survived in Civil War Armies (UNC Press, 2018)
Christian McWhirter, Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, “”His Soul is Marching On: Emancipation and the Music of Civil War Soldiers”
CWSG is a relaxed, informal gathering to share ideas. As is our custom, we have homework: please read and come prepared to discuss Pete Carmichael’s The War for the Common Soldier: How Men Thought, Fought, and Survived in Civil War Armies.
