Please Volunteer--H-CivWar needs Editors--Please Volunteer

Dear Subscribers,

H-Net is built around volunteerism from the executive council all the way to your network editors. Without volunteers, H-Net cannot function and not deliver the high-quality material you are used to and enjoy reading. We need you!

We are still in desperate need of additional volunteer Discussion Editors. Discussion Editors manage posting of materials on the Commons, add new subscribers, and can be involved in specific projects. H-Net can be what you want it to be from once a week checking for new subscribers, managing our social media profiles, or doing some special project. We would especially like to have somebody join the team who might be interested in restarting our Diversity Initiative, highlighting scholarship from and about minority groups, as well as individuals who might be interested in doing podcasts or other tasks. There are many ways that you can help that do not require much time on your part.

There are many reasons to consider volunteering with H-CivWar. We have an editorial team composed of academic volunteers who support each other’s efforts and work with flexible scheduling.

If you are unsure if H-CivWar volunteerism is for you, please reach out (eichhorn.niels@gmail.com). To apply to serve as an editor, please email a single PDF containing the following to editorial-civwar@mail.h-net.org by Friday, February 17th. 1) Your C.V., including current contact information. 2) A description of about 250 words explaining your areas of expertise. 3) A brief appraisal of your competing time commitments over the next two years.

Kind Regards,

Niels Eichhorn
