Call for Editors: Question of the Month Series

Dear H-Nationalism Subscribers,

I would like to personally thank Dr. Simon Purdue for doing so much to launch and manage our Question of the Month series, which I’ve been delighted to see grow over the last two years. His talents have been a great blessing to the series, and to H-Nationalism more generally. Simon is ready to hand over the reins, and so in this message I’m putting out an open call for volunteers to manage the series. Core responsibilities include formulating and posting the monthly question, inviting guest contributors to do the same, moderating incoming responses, and contributing to the discussion itself, including through an end-of-month wrap-up. All posts in the series go out to our 3,000+ academic subscribers, providing a large, concentrated audience. The aim of the series is to enrich our field of study and to help stitch together the diverse scholars working on the very broad subjects of nationalism, nationalities, and nations. Scholars of any rank from Ph.D. student to emeritus are welcomed to apply. The ability to work with others and remain in regular communication with our editorial team are key attributes. To apply, please send the following, in a single email, to editorial-nationalism@mail.h-net.org: 1) your current C.V.; 2) roughly 200 words describing your areas of expertise and interest in the series; 3) a brief appraisal of your other time commitments over the next year; and 4) two sample questions for the series. We will evaluate volunteer applications on a rolling basis through the next month (I know it's the end of the term for many of us).

Kind Regards,

David Prior
