Circulating Reviews & Nationalism and the World Cup

Dear Members,

I wanted to send out a quick message to mention two opportunities.  1) H-Nationalism is looking for a junior scholar who can help us assemble a list of relevant and publicly-available book reviews for our "Weekend Reading" series.  If you are interested in helping out on a weekly basis and in joining our volunteer staff, please contact me at prior@mail.h-net.msu.edu  2)  I'm curious whether any of our members woud be interested in writing some posts about nationalism and the upcoming World Cup as part of H-Nationalism's series, "Nationalism and the Global Public Sphere."  I'm sure we have some scholars of nationalism and sports on our list, at least a few of whom are probably soccer fans.  I'd be interested to see how events on and off the field draw on national sterotypes and the ways that competitions past and present have shaped national identities.
