The PRC History Group is pleased to announce a new bilingual (Chinese and English)  issue of  the PRC History Review Book Review Series. Li Yujie reviews Yang Kuisong’s Eight Outcasts: Social and Political Marginalization in China under Mao. Translated by Gregor Benton and Ye Zhen (Berkeley: University of California Press, 2019). The author had originally intended to publish a response to the review, but circumstances beyond his control have delayed that process. http://prchistory.org/prc-history-review/ 

Call for Position Papers: Chinese Identity in an Age of Anti-Asian Racism and #StopAsianHate (British Journal of Chinese Studies)

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, racism against Chinese and other East and Southeast Asian communities has surged globally. At the same time, Chinese communities in different parts of the world have mobilised themselves to raise awareness of and fight against Sinophobia and anti-Asian racism.
