The PRC History Group and History Labs are delighted to announce the December 2022 issue of Revisiting the Revolution. In this issue, Morgan Rocks (College of the Holy Cross) and Jiaqi Yao (UBC) translate Song Shaopeng’s “Gender and Class in the Soviet Area Women’s Movement.”
Song's article explores the intersectionality of class and gender in the Jiangxi Soviet, re-centering women’s experience as foundational to revolutionary history through a focus on the question of 主体性 (subjectivity, agency, autonomy). This is the first in a series of articles by Chinese socialist feminist scholars that will appear on this site.
