As part of the newly-launched research network "Intellectual History in East Central Europe" (, we are happy to invite paper proposals for the workshop entitled "Socialist Political Thought in East Central Europe, 1889–1968: Concepts, Debates, Questions".

Currently, we plan to have the workshop at Central European University's campus in Budapest, Hungary, between May 14–15, 2021—if the epidemiological and travel situations allow. If not, the workshop will be held online and announced as such in advance. The working language of the event will be English.

Initial paper proposals should be between 350–500 words in length. In addition, we ask that the applicant include a short biographic summary with their current institutional affiliation(s). The deadline for proposals is February 15, 2021. We will send out confirmations by March 1.
