IPS is an outstanding opportunity for recent US undergraduates to work closely with a member of the Bundestag. It is worth promoting to your politically-interested undergraduates. In collaboration with Berlin’s three major universities, the German Bundestag offers the International Parliamentary Scholarship (IPS) to politically active and dedicated young college graduates who wish to play an important role in shaping the future of their countries.

 

The IPS program enables participants to gain first-hand knowledge of Germany’s parliamentary system and political decision-making during a 5-month work placement with a Member of the German Parliament (to take place March 1 through July 31, 2019). Participants will also have the chance to enroll in university classes during the summer semester, spending a total of five months in the German capital.

 

This program is open to university graduates who are US citizens and have a very good knowledge of the German language. Candidates should also be familiar with the basic features of the German governmental system.
