The Department of History at the University of Waterloo presents a one-day symposium to honour the scholarship of Dr. James Walker, and the ways in which his teaching and his research has influenced the field of historical studies.
Invited former students of Dr. Walker will speak about their current research; some are students who continued in academia, while others have gone to work in other sectors but continue to contribute to the fields of human rights, ethnic histories, and humanitarianism more broadly.
The symposium is open to anyone, and attendees are welcome to come for the day or drop in to individual sessions. More information, including the full program and a map of the campus, is available at the following link: https://uwaterloo.ca/events/events/future-historical-studies-symposium-honour-james-walker
