H-Canada Recruitment Call

Dear H-Canada Subscribers,

H-Canada is looking to expand its team of volunteer editors in the coming weeks. H-Canada is one of the 180 topically-defined networks that form the core of H-Net: Humanities and Social Sciences Online, a non-profit scholarly organization defined by its commitment to academic best practices. H-Canada constitutes a dynamic online forum with the ability to produce diverse kinds of content, including blog posts, essays, GIS-indexed maps, timelines, book reviews, and more! For this round of recruitment, we are particularly interested in the following positions, although scholars should always feel welcomed to reach out to me for an informal conversation. We offer excellent ways for scholars of all ranks to gain experience, shape our field of study, and develop their professional profiles.

A. Announcements Specialist: we are looking for an Announcements Specialist who will help to circulate academic announcements to our subscribers. This work can be particularly helpful to junior scholars looking to gain a broad view of the field. Duties include browsing H-Announce for relevant CfPs and approving CfPs that come to our network through our discussion feed.

B. Book Review Editor: we are looking for a Book Review Editor, who will commission, edit, and publish reviews on H-Canada through H-Net's official process.

If interested in volunteering, please send me (editorial-canada@mail.h-net.org): 1) 200 words about your expertise, how you envision contributing, and a pragmatic assessment of your availability; and 2) a current C.V. by January 15, 2020. Please also be prepared to provide a reference upon request.

Best wishes,

Amy Poole, Web Editor for H-Canada
