MEDIA. GENRE. THE GENERIC.
OCTOBER 17-19, 2019
NAVSA 2019 invites all scholars of the Victorian period: historians, media scholars, literary critics, art historians, and more. We are eager to include a variety of perspectives, including ones on communication and information forms and in the digital humanities.
We welcome proposals on media and genre; alternatively, we offer the theme itself as generic: the conference is open-call on any topic, as long as it is conducive to a short presentation. Submit on any area of research, teaching, or project-building (collaborative, creative, and/or public) that would be of interest to Victorianist scholars.
Our keynote speakers will be film director Mike Leigh, whose most recent work is Peterloo (2018), and historian Priya Satia, author of Empire of Guns: The Violent Making of the Industrial Revolution (2018).
The submission deadline is January 28, 2019. Please see the full CFP for more information.
