Experiencing History: A New Digital Tool for Teaching the Holocaust

The US Holocaust Memorial Museum has introduced a new digital tool for teaching the Holocaust: Experiencing History offers students and teachers an innovative platform for exploring original materials on a variety of themes and topics. Joining collections of primary sources dealing with Jewish Perspectives and the Holocaust, our recent offerings on Americans and the Holocaust provide fresh insights on US society during the 1930s and 1940s. Read an editorial from an African American newspaper debating participation in the 1936 "Nazi Olympics"; discover an anonymous letter thrown from a deportation train in Poland; watch some of the first postwar footage of liberated Nazi camps from the perspective of an American infantryman.
