Seminar on Archival and Historical Research at the Center for Jewish History

The Center for Jewish History's Seminar on Archival and Historical Research is a four-day program May 18-21, 2015 for rising college seniors, MA students and first- and second-year doctoral students to learn the skills of conducting archival research at one of the premier research libraries in the United States. The seminar’s focus is on learning a variety of tools for accessing information and incorporating archival and library research into specific projects.

USC Shoah Foundation Center for Advanced Genocide Research invites proposals from advanced standing Ph.D. candidates for its 2015-2016 Margee and Douglas Greenberg Research Fellowship. The fellowship provides $4,000 support for dissertation research focused on testimony from the Visual History Archive. The incumbent will spend up to one month in residence at the USC Shoah Foundation Center for Advanced Genocide Research during the 2015-2016 academic year.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

USC Shoah Foundation – The Institute for Visual History and Education is seeking independent contractors to index audiovisual collections of Holocaust/World War II era (1939-1945) testimonies.  The collections are from various U.S. and Canadian oral history archives.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Using judgment and discretion, index video interviews of Holocaust witnesses utilizing USC Shoah Foundation’s proprietary indexing software and methodology:
