CfA: AHDA Fellowship program at Columbia University

The Alliance for Historical Dialogue and Accountability (AHDA) is a capacity-building program that brings together scholars, advocates, journalists, educators, artists, policy makers, and others who work on historical dialogue. The program entails skills-building workshops, graduate coursework, public dialogue and networking with experts and organizations at Columbia and around the world.  

Genocide researchers experiencing vicarious trauma & secondary traumatic stress

I am collaborating with Dr. Andy Wilczak on a book about vicarious trauma and secondary traumatic stress in academia. We're looking to speak with students & faculty about how they've been affected by their work. This is not an academic study, but rather a work of journalism and creative nonfiction. My own experience in genocide studies has shown me that this field is particularly risky terrain for researchers in regards to vicarious trauma and similar mental health issues.
