Noire métropole is a French-language blog that will appeal to those interested in French colonial history. In 2017, Julie Duprat wrote a thesis about the history of black minorities in France, and she transformed that research into this blog. Her posts have focused on slavery, maritime history, women, and the performing arts in the Atlantic World in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The posts contain historic portraits and maps as well as modern photographs to better illuminate these important histories.
