Women in German Studies (WIGS) presents an Online Teaching Development Day

If you’re new to teaching, new to online teaching or just looking to learn new ideas, this day is for you, whatever your subject area.

You can attend the whole day or individual sessions.

All times are British Summer Time. The sessions are in English and free. We will be using Zoom.

Please make the organisers aware of any specific needs you may have in attending this online session (e.g. closed captions)

 

Times and Sessions

Session 1

10am-11.00am: Small Group Teaching

This session offers practical advice on running small group teaching sessions. It provides a space to share different ideas and learn new techniques.

 

Break: 11.00am- 11.15am

 

Session 2

11.15am-12.15pm: Building an Online Community

This session focuses on how to build online communities for your learners, providing structured guidance and examples of best practice.

 

Lunch break: 12.15-1pm

 

Session 3

1.00pm-2.00pm: Inclusive Teaching

This session focuses on how to make your teaching inclusive providing guidance and examples of best practice on strategies in the classroom and in materials writing.

 

Break: 2.00pm -2.15pm

Session 4

2.15pm-3.15pm: HEA Accreditation

This session offers guidance on the various Higher Education teaching accreditations you can obtain through your institution. It will be a practice orientated session with opportunities to trial your ideas and gain feedback.
