The Centre for Research on Governance and Democracy (CPGD), the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES) - Mozambique representation, and the V-Dem (Varieties of Democracy) Institute of the University of Gothenburg, are hosting a Conference on Democracy, on Wednesday, 24 May 2017, in Maputo, Mozambique at the Maputo VIP Hotel, between 8:00 and 17:30 hours.

 

New Issue: Theoria - A Journal of Social and Political Theory

Dear Colleague,

We are pleased to announce that the latest issue of Theoria - A Journal of Social and Political Theory has been published by Berghahn Journals. The articles in this issue cover a range of topics including interpretations of Rawls's approach to fraternity, electoral participation in the Philippines, and two responses to Lawrence Hamilton's Freedom Is Power - along with a response from Hamilton. This issue concludes with a review essay.

Extended deadline - Fully-funded PhD studentships in Citizenship, Civil Society and Rule of Law at the University of Aberdeen

The Centre for Citizenship, Civil Society and Rule of Law (CISRUL) at the University of Aberdeen is delighted to offer two PhD studentships to start in September 2017. The studentships will include home/overseas fees and a full stipend of £14,539 per annum.

We welcome applicants from anthropology, cultural and literary studies, education, history, legal theory and socio-legal studies, philosophy, politics, religious studies, sociology and theology.
