H-DEMOCRACY Editors wanted!

H-Net Vice President of Networks Discussion

Hello!

My name is Patrick Cox, Vice-President of Networks at H-NET and acting editor of H-Democracy.

I'm writing to ask if any amongst you would be willing to take over the editorship of H-Democracy. This 400+ member network has no one running it right now and has gone a bit quiet. I'm no expert in the field, and editor of two other H-NET networks and my duties as VP I am unable to commit the time it takes to run the network successfully myself. I will, however, see the network through transition to new editorship by folks more expert in the field than I.

H-NET networks are usually run by a team who share the workload, but can be managed by one. H-NET will provide all technical training and support to manage H-Appalachia and I can stay on board until new editors are comfortable in the position. We are most interested in editors interested in utilizing features the new Commons set up allows beyond posting annoucements. This might include creating an online archive of teaching syllabi or other resources, blogging, an image bank, more active discussion, collaborations with other Networks...

Editing H-NET networks provides valuable service to your field and a unique line to your CV!

If you're interested, let me know at vp-net@mail.h-net.msu.edu and I can tell you more.

Thanks so much

Patrick Cox
