Poetry of the Earth

Poet Lydia Huntley Sigourney, (1791-1865) termed flowers, "The Poetry of the Earth" and indeed wrote a volume of poetry, Voice of the Flowers.  Mr. Michael Russo, organic farmer, floral designer and owner of Trout Lily Farm will conduct a PowerPoint presentation featuring his Language of Flowers books highlighting Mrs. Sigourney's flower themed poetry. The lecture will be held at the Hagaman Memorial Library -227 Main Street East Haven, CT on May 26th at 6:30 p.m. The program is made possible by a grant from CThumanities.
