About the Author

Frances Henry is professor emerita at York University and a member of the Royal Society of Canada specializing in Caribbean studies. She is author of The Equity Myth: Racialization and Indigeneity at Canadian Universities and He Had the Power: Pa Neezer, the Orisha King of Trinidad. Her work has appeared in the Journal of Canadian Studies and Canadian Ethnic Studies. Dwaine Plaza is professor of sociology at Oregon State University specializing in Caribbean studies. He is coauthor of Returning to the Source: The Final Stage of the Caribbean Migration Circuit.
