Papers are sought for a proposed special session at the South Central MLA's 2020 convention in Houston, October 8-10, devoted to twins, doubles, and imposters in medieval/early modern Hispanic literary and historical texts. How do resemblance and/or impersonation problematize conceptions and categories of identity and with what effects? Comparative studies incorporating medieval/early modern texts in other languages are welcome.
Please send 250-word abstracts, brief bios, and A/V requirements to Christopher Weimer (christopher.weimer@okstate.edu) by Monday, March 30th, 2020; notification by Friday, April 3rd. All participants must be SCMLA members when the session proposal is submitted, so speakers whose papers are accepted must pay 2020 SCMLA dues no later than Wednesday, April 8th.
