Claire L. Dehon Discussion

Claire L. Dehon, Le roman en Cote d'Ivoire, une nouvelle griotique, New York: Peter Lang, 2014.

This monograph is a literary history of the novel between 1956 and 2010. It offers a general view useful to the specialist as well as the student.  It analyses novels written by B. Dadie, G. Ake Loba, D. Oussou-Essui, Z. Nokan, A. Kourouma, J.M. Adiaffi, G.O. Kone, A. Kone, M Bandaman, I. Biton, R. Yaou, T. Boni and V. Tadjo. It shows the changes that happened over the years, and it situates internationally known novelists such as A. Kourouma and V. Tadjo in their cultural environment. Sociologists and political scientists who are interested in views about power and money, for example, will find here information not always available in studies about politics and society.
