Call for Papers, Renaissance Society of America Conference, Chicago, IL, March 21-23, 2024

Kathleen Comerford Discussion

The Renaissance Society of America (RSA) has announced that it will accept proposals for individual presentation proposals and complete panels for its annual conference, to be held March 21-23, 2024, in Chicago, IL (USA).  The Journal of Jesuit Studies regularly organizes up to five panels at this conference.  We are looking to organize panels in any aspect of Jesuit studies in any region, up to the year 1700.  (Please note: submission by the JJS does not guarantee acceptance to the program, as we are not an affiliated society.)

Please submit abstracts on topics related to global Jesuit studies (any part of the world, including comparative between regions) on the subjects of: history, literature and theater, art/architectural history, music history, ethnography, religious studies, or related topics, of no more than 200 words, along with a short list of keywords, the discipline you represent (see https://www.rsa.org/page/DisciplineReps for choices) and a BRIEF CV (no more than 300 words, including affiliation, PhD completion date, rank, discipline, and one or two important publications or other evidence of scholarship) to Kathleen Comerford, kcomerfo@georgiasouthern.edu, no later than August 1, 2023.  We will consider panels, individual papers, and roundtables. Titles of papers may be no longer than 15 words.

Further information about the RSA, the Chicago conference, and the general Call for Papers is available at https://www.rsa.org/page/RSAChicago2024.  Please check the posted requirements for graduate students if you do not hold a terminal degree.

Thank you.
