Judaica: Neue digitale Folge (JNDF) is a peer-reviewed academic journal covering all areas of Jewish Studies from antiquity to modernity. It is the successor to Judaica. Beiträge zum Verstehen des Judentums (ed. by ZIID – Zurich Institute for Interreligious Dialogue), which was published in 74 volumes as a print version. Like its predecessor journal, it has a strong link to Jewish Studies at Swiss universities, and an international outlook—with authors and reviewers from all over the world. The editorial office is located at the Institute of Jewish Studies at the University of Bern. The new Judaica publishes articles in German, French and English. Besides articles, JNDF also publishes reviews.

JNDF is an open access journal. All content is freely available without charge to the reader. JNDF does not charge any article processing charges (APCs) or article submission charges (ASCs) and does allow the author(s) to hold the copyright without restrictions.

Research articles published in our journal go through a double blind peer review process. Our content is currently indexed in Atla Religion Database, RAMBI: The Index of Articles on Jewish Studies, Index Theologicus, and RelBib.

The Journal’s editorial team is currently welcoming submission of manuscripts. Submission of articles that fall within the scope of the journal may be submitted directly via the journal's website, where you can also find our style guide. If you are interested in writing a book review, please get in touch with the editorial coordinator ( We'll be glad to order you a review copy.

Submissions may be sent at any time. We're currently switching to a continuous publishing workflow, which means that content will be published as soon as its ready for publication.
