Internet Resource: "Website for the Study of the Hebrew Bible"

Sarah Imhoff Discussion

I am pleased to let you know that, with the help of many colleagues, friends, and students, I have completely revamped my website that deals with basic tools for the study of the (Hebrew) Bible in Hebrew. Its main intended audience is beginning and intermediate students who want to engage biblical texts in a scholarly fashion in Hebrew. It has sections on scholarly bibles, lexica, grammars, and electronic resources. It includes some exercises in using these tools. It also has a brief discussion of the tetragrammaton and its pronunciation. It includes a list of basic tools for general biblical scholarship that students writing papers (at any level) may find helpful. Finally, with lots of help, I have compiled a Hebrew-English and English-Hebrew glossary of terms used in biblical scholarship so that English speakers can more easily read modern Hebrew articles, and vice versa.

I hope to update this site often, so feel free to send me corrections and suggestions. SBL has also agreed to host it on its website, so in the coming days you should see it there as well.
