East European Jewish Affairs (EEJA) invites abstracts for a special issue on the Jewish Historical Institute (Żydowski Instytut Historyczny; ŻIH) in Warsaw under Poland’s communist regime and beyond. The guest coeditors of this special issue are Gabriel Finder and Ewa Koźmińska-Frejlak. EEJA’s editors and the guest coeditors encourage the submission of creative papers from a variety of disciplinary perspectives and approaches. We are interested in political, institutional, and cultural history and examinations of the lives and work of scholars connected with ŻIH such as Tatiana Berenstein, Artur Eisenbach, and Ruta Sakowska.

All papers should be between 6,000 and 7,000 words, inclusive of notes. Final drafts of all papers will be due on or before May 31, 2021. All papers will be submitted to peer review.

Please send abstracts to not later than February 15, 2021. Authors whose abstracts are accepted will be notified shortly thereafter.
