Saint Petersburg State University, Institute of Philosophy invites to participate in the International Conference for Young and Early Career Researchers
"FORMATION OF CULTURE IN DIASPORA", September 5-6, 2019

Research problems associated with the phenomenon of “diaspora” are among of the most important issues in modern theoretical and practical knowledge. The history of the formation and cultural characteristics of diaspora communities provide a unique material for the study of general trends of modern culture.
Key topics of the conference: problems of history, culture, philosophy, theology, art of Jewish, Greek, Armenian and other diaspora communities in different regions and in different historical epochs. The conference will address issues of both classical and modern diasporas. The topics of the sections assume the coverage of a wide range of theoretical and practical issues related to diaspora research.
The conference is designed for young researchers up to 45 years old, as well as for graduate, postgraduate and undergraduate students.
The Department of Jewish Culture already has experience in holding a conference aimed at young researchers, and focuses on establishing international cooperation between young researchers and their foreign colleagues.Based on the conference materials, abstracts will be published (in Russian and English).
In the application submitted to the committee, it is necessary to formulate the research topic, method and results.

Should an abstract be accepted, the committee will cover travel & housing expenses.
Abstract text may contain no more than 500 words, including bibliographic references. Abstracts will be published in a peer-review journal.
Each speaker will have 20 minutes for the report and 10 minutes for the discussion. Conference working languages: English and Russian (with translation if necessary).
