Director for Public Programs and managing editor of the Jewish Quarterly Review
The position of The Klatt Family Director for Public Programs and Managing Editor of the Jewish Quarterly Review consists of two primary roles: to represent the public face of the Katz Center for Advanced Judaic Studies at the School of Arts and Sciences at Penn, and to function as a critical member of the editorial team of the Center’s journal. This individual must be highly organized and motivated with outstanding academic and interpersonal skills. He/she must hold a deep commitment to the academic study of Jewish civilization, an appreciation of the Katz Center, and an ability to articulate its mission to the community at large. The job is a one year full time position (beginning summer 2014), with the possibility to apply for a regular appointment at the end of that time.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree and 1 year to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Knowledge of Hebrew necessary, other languages desirable. Excellent writing, editorial, organizational and communication skills and deep commitment to the academic study of Jewish civilization.
