Research Query: "Jewish Luck"

Eliyana Adler Discussion

Can anyone point me to a source for the folk concept of "Jewish luck"? I feel sure that I have heard it used in Yiddish sayings meaning something like seemingly bad luck that turns out for the best, or the opposite, apparently good luck that ends up going wrong, but I have not been able to locate any examples. After skimming through a pile of collections of Yiddish sprikhverter, I am no closer. Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

Yiddish actor Shloyme Mikhoels starred in a Soviet-era silent film titled Jewish Luck, but from somewhere I was led to believe the term's origins are Russian--Yevreiskoye Shastye--and not Yiddish.
