H-Judaic is greatly saddened to learn of the passing of Ed Parish (E.P.) Sanders (1937-2022), Arts & Sciences Professor of Religion emeritus at Duke University, and a pioneer in the study of Early Christianity and Judaism in the Greco-Roman world. Sanders revolutionized the study of Paul with his 1977 book, Paul and Palestinian Judaism. He subsequently wrote, edited, and coedited a shelf of books. Wikipedia lists his major works as follows:
